Born into a family of 20 in Chihuahua Mexico and raised in Ontario Canada. Teaching dance and fitness since 1996. Run my own 3 studio's called Imagine Dance & Fitness in Woodstock, Delhi, Tillsonburg. I teach Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, Booty Barre, Clogging, TRX, Bounce Fit, Pound, Bokwa & Line Dancing. Married with three Children and 2 step Children. I run a 30 member Dance Team called the Canadian Country Cruisers. We are a theatre group who dance and perform all around Ontario. We, along with The Shelly Rastin band, we have opened for Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and George Canyon, at Sarnia Bayfest. I love music, dance, and fitness.

Ellen Johnson

I was born & raised just outside Ingersoll & grew up on a farm-am a country girl thru & thru. I had the opportunity to take dance lessons as a young girl so music & dance has always been in my blood. I stopped dancing for a while when I married (except around the washing machine) and raised our family, but now am back at it. I am married, and happily, and to the same man, for 39 years and we have 4 grown sons and 6 BEAUTIFUL grandchildren. I started learning line dance and clogging 14 years ago and have never looked back. I am the very proud member of the Canadian Country Cruisers, having captured 1st place in Nashville in 2007. My biggest thrill has been performing with the SHELLY RASTIN BAND ,not only in the London area, but also opening with this band at Sarnia Bayfest for Keith Urban & Tim McGraw. I started Zumba a year & 1/2 ago and simply love it for all that it entails-especially all the people I have met along the way and the friends I have made. I am 58 years young and teach Zumba gold, Zumba basic, Zumba curves, and Zumba toning. In my spare time I bond with our grandkids, cut grass, and motorcycle, bond some more, cut grass, drive school bus, dance, Zumba, and finish cutting the beautiful green grass. Call me Ellen-Mom-Dear-Grams- & come to Zumba!!! "The party don't start till you walk in"- so come on in and Zumba away!!!

Christine Filipowich

My name is Christine Filipowich and I have been living in the Niagara Region for over 15 years.

I have been Line Dancing for over 20, and started in the Mississauga area as a teenager when ever my sister would allow me to tag along.

Line dancing is such a great activity, if you know a few basic dance steps you can dance the night away.

We were so excited when Lena started the Line Dancing class in Niagara Falls and I have been so happy to have taught her class since the beginning of last year. Kristie Adamson

My name is Kristie Adamson, I'm 22 years old and have lived in Tillsonburg my whole life. I did gymnastics for 10 years and coached for 4 years. I graduated Humber College with a diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA & PTA) and currently work as a PTA at Maple Manor and Harvest Retirement. I have always had a very active lifestyle and being fit and healthy is very important to me. The gym does not appeal to me very much, but I love doing exercise classes and now I am lucky enough to teach them!

Ashley McGough

Hello All! My name is Ashley McGough and I am 25 years old.I grew up in Waterloo and I only moved to Delhi about 3 years ago. I started going Bounce Fit about a year ago and absolutely fell in love with it. It amazes me that no matter how tired I am and wanting to stop I just keep going because I am having so much fun! I also have never been able to go running or other classes as I almost immediately get shin splints. I have never had that problem with bounce fit. I grew up as a synchronized swimmer and racer in the pool. It is now great to be able to go and workout without having to find a pool and still enjoy it so much.

I work out of Cambridge and I am always telling my co-workers, family, and friends about bounce fit. There is none in the KW area and everyone kept asking me to get it there. I figured hey I enjoy it, why not teach it? I am looking forward to sharing the bounce fit experience with everyone out that way and bring the same enjoyment for them!

Wendy Young

I was born and raised in Tillsonburg and I have two children. I am a retired teacher/principal with the Thames Valley Board of Education. My first job was teaching Physical Education and I did fitness classes for staff after school. I started salsa lessons about six years ago and I enjoyed that so much. I have always been passionate about fitness – my daughter often tells me that she remembers me leaving the house for jazzercise in my tights and workout suit twice a week when she was growing up. She was the one that convinced me to go to a Zumba class in May 2010 and that did it for me! I have never had so much fun exercising!!! My sister always says I’m a fanatic about everything I take up and Zumba is no exception. This is the best fitness workout ever. I attended ten classes and lost ten pounds. How can you beat that? When Lena asked me if I would be interested in becoming an instructor, I didn’t think it would be possible at my age. My husband disagrees; he thinks Zumba has rejuvenated me and I agree. Come join my Zumba Gold class and see what all the excitement is about. You’ll have a great time (and you won’t even realize that you’re getting fit too)!

I am a Thamesford girl who has come back home after attending school for Kinesiology and Occupational Therapy. Occupational Therapist by day, I am a Zumba nut by night and have become a ZIN certified Zumba and Zumba Gold instructor to prove it!

I have wanted to dance since I was a little girl, but with so many other activities on the go, it was a dream that sat on the back burner (with the exception of some booty shaking on Saturday night). I became dedicated to track and field and competed through university. After graduating, I realized the arthritis in my knees meant I’d need to give up track. Struggling with my weight and becoming bored with typical workouts, I tried Zumba. All of a sudden I was dancing and the little girl in me was loving it! It has helped me to become a more confident woman with a greater appreciation for my body and what it can do, no matter my size. I started Zumba to help me lose weight, but I’ve stayed with it and become an instructor because I believe in the fun and overall fitness that Zumba can bring. In Zumba Plus, I hope to help other’s shake their booties into shape, have fun, and love how they can move their bodies in a class were we can all appreciate each other successes and struggles. Bootylicious bodies can Zumba with the best! Get ready to have sweat and have loads of fun!

Michelle Doris Matheson

Hi my name is Michelle Vanderheyden and I am 25 years old. I first started going to Zumba in 2009 and instantly fell in love! I love the music, the movement and the party atmosphere! I’ve tried going to the gym or working out at home but the motivation was never there. The beauty of Zumba is that it’s so much fun that you don’t even realize how hard your body is working. Because of Zumba I am in the best shape of my life and my body has never felt more energized. I have always enjoyed dance, if you ask any of my friends I’m the one on the dance floor all night long! So doing Zumba twice a week full fills my obsession! My background in dance includes jazz, hip hop, and cheerleading.

I also work Part-Time as a X-ray Technologist in St. Thomas. Like Zumba, there is never a dull moment in my career, I love working with people and putting a smile on their face!

Chrissy Kaiser and I will be starting our classes in Willingham, Ontario. So if you live in the area come out and see what we’re talking about! I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!

George Papadakos

I was born and raised in Tillsonburg, and upon finishing my schooling at Conestoga College, I returned home to start my family. I have two beautiful children that I share with my wonderful wife Nikko. I have always enjoyed sports, but excelled in soccer as a goalkeeper. It has always played a big role in my life, and I went on to play at the collegiate and premier levels. But as I got older I knew the time was coming to let the younger kids step in. So taking a plunge into triathlon seemed to be the next logical step. I registered for my first triathlon which was 70.3 miles long. Most people (actually everyone thought I was crazy) liked the idea, and encouraged me to do well. So with no real plan I set out to do the volume needed to get me across the finish line. Swimming was taxing, and I remember everyone saying it would get easier (it took longer than they said it would), biking was fun until you were faced with huge head winds, and running, for a person who played goalkeeper was not my favorite. But the race came, and all the preparation that I did paid off with a time of 5:50:52. There is no better feeling than racing with, and against others that have suffered through the necessary training. When you cross that finish line, the feeling of such great accomplishment, is so satisfying that you want to do it again(just maybe not that day). It was in the days after the event that I realized that the training was one of the aspects of racing that I enjoyed most. From that point on I trained like I wanted to race, and every year I got better, stronger and smarter.

Since 2007 I have competed in over 20 triathlons, 4 half-iron man distance, and 3 Ironman distance races. I joined TRX last year in December and loved the workouts. It was a great change from being in a pool or slugging miles on the road or treadmill, and it also allowed Nikko and I some kids free time. The low impact nature of the movements allowed me to get some strength training done even in heavy training blocks. I love to challenge myself everyday, and I look forward to challenging everyone that I meet at TRX, and together we can meet our athletic and/or fitness goals.

Thank-you for taking the time to get to know me a little. My name is Hillary Anderson. I am a mother to two beautiful boys. My family moved to Tillsonburg area 15 years ago and fell in love with it. My fitness background started with Managing a women's GoodLife Fitness. That is where I found my passion for helping others reach their goals. While on maternity leave I decided to follow my heart and become a yoga instructor. I have a 200RYT with the Yoga Alliance. I am truly looking forward to meeting you and leading you through your yoga practice.
